Learn what it means to pursue humanistic photography today in this conversation between 2020 Marty Forscher Fellowship winners Ada Trillo and Rafael Heygster; photo editor Paloma Shutes, and photographer, educator and author Michelle Bogre. Trillo and Heygster will discuss their fellowship-winning projects, and share their experiences as documentary photographers, including how they got their start; how they choose stories; and how they fund their work. The panel will also present an editor’s perspective on collaborating with photographers to reveal untold stories.
The Marty Forscher Fellowship is given annually to emerging photographers and students who create humanistic photography. Winners of the fellowship, which was established in 1995, have become leading documentary photographers, earning awards and acclaim for their work.
